Lincoln library almost ready with new software

LINCOLN - The Lincoln Memorial Library will be launching its new library automation software on Aug. 3, library officials said.

Library Director Linda Morrill is working with the town's computer consultant, Motorbrain, Inc. to start the installation of the Destiny software beginning July 30.  The library will be closed on Saturday, Aug. 1, for library staff training.

The new software is Web based so residents will be able to access the library collection online.  This new software will allow patrons to reserve titles, renew titles, and request Inter-library loans online, town officials said.

Library workers are ensuring that the library's present database is up to date and ready for conversion to the new system.
